It's been too long! Lauren Libby

Hi everyone...it's so nice to see so many familiar names on the posts...brings back many, many memories for me. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of our class mates Laura and Kelley. My heartfelt prayers go out to Laura and Kelley's families.

I'm also sorry that I missed the last and recent reunion. I see Julie often where I work in Swampscott when she comes in to do her grocery shopping...she still looks 17!! I have the best job for a full-time mom with two boys, Mat (16) and Sean (7), my Leprechauns. I gave up the business suit and commute into boston 10 years ago and let my husband take the bull by the horns. I live on the Northshore in Lynn. I knew on my 4th grade field trip to Nahant that I would settle in this area as an adult...came here after highschool and haven't left, except for a 14mnth period, where we stayed in Charlottesville, Va. I have to say, rolling hills, cows and a southern drawl do not compare to the ocean breeze, seagulls and a Boston accent...(smile)

Well...its good to know that I'm not the only one approaching 40......gray hairs and gravity are the least of my worries when I put it into perspective.........every day is a blessing.

I'll try to post some photos soon of my family and if I dig hard enough, photos of our exchange trip to Germany, those were some cool memories for a bunch of young kids!....I hope that everyone has a safe and happy new year!!! - Lauren Connolly (Libby)

Laura Mary Plunkett

Laura died the way she lived, with generosity and laughter and much eye rolling.
She did not go quietly, she was pissed as hell but never gave into self-pity, though we all would have let her.
She spent much of her illness helping to plan a mutual friends wedding, even putting herself through trying on bridesmaids dresses. Later on she went through all of the magazines, helping me plan my wedding. Laura being Laura, even picked out
Wedding presents that Scott would later bring to our weddings.
In my last visit with Laura, about 3 weeks before she died, she was still complaining about the way I folded the fitted sheets and wondering if she should have the frozen yogurt instead of the ice cream--Laura being Laura.

Walter, seriously, the check is in the mail. Unfortunately, it won't arrive until Monday or Tuesday. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone next week. I never thought 20 years could go by so quickly. It should be a great time, see you there!

Thanks Rochelle for sending that picture. WOW was I surprised to see me in that picture. I lost ALL my pics from high school in one of my moves in ATL. If anyone else has any please send them. My kids get a kick out of it. I can't wait until next week. See you all next week.
